A Message from the CEO
Our schools kicked off without a hitch to start the 2023-2024 school year. Principals, teachers and staff welcomed students with open arms. A new year is a blank canvas to be painted with possibilities. We believe we will transform our possibilities into realities with our promising students and amazing staff. I want to commend you on a successful start of the school year. I look forward to many successes, as we collaborate to increase academic achievement, implement great programs and inspire students to chase excellence.

EleVate Education Summit
All roads led to Newark, OH as educators, sponsors and school board members converged at EEG’s inaugural EleVate Education Summit. The two-day, engaging event included the forging of new friendships, learning cutting-edge, evidence based strategies, being motivated and inspired, networking and professional camaraderie. There were approximately 400 attendees who were offered 55 different professional development topics relevant to the positions in which they serve. Additionally, there were specific sessions designed for school board members. Keynote speakers, Troy Kemp and Mark Perna lit a fire of determination and encouragement among our educators. Educational experts facilitated dynamic trainings which presented pertinent information and best practices to sharpen skills. EEG continues to employ targeted strategies to Elevate the Experience for its faculty, staff, students and stakeholders.
Updates
New Promotion Score for Third Grade Reading Guarantee
The State Board of Education voted to increase the promotion score for Grade 3 English Language Arts this school year. Students who achieve 690 or higher on the English Language Arts scaled score will meet the requirement for for promotion to fourth grade. Click here for details.
ODE Issues Reinstatement Licenses
Educators with expired associate or professional licenses/certificates may apply for a nonrenewable reinstatement license. Reinstatement licenses must be in the same subject area and grade level as the expired license or certificate. Those teaching under a reinstatement license satisfies the requirement for certification while pursuing renewed credentials. For additional information, click here.

School News
School Safety Implementation
EEG’s investment in new safety equipment was recently unveiled. Our teams have worked diligently over the summer to provide training to all staff, and we are excited that our students will learn in a safe environment. New visitor management equipment, campus emergency notification systems, sustainable cleaning and air and surface purification systems are in the process of installation in our schools. We are proud to implement our safety enhancement plan in all of our schools.
Bridge Gate Welcomes the Community!
Bridge Gate Community School hosted a Back-to-School Breakfast in which they welcomed distinguished community guest speakers to empower our students. What a great way to engage the community and motivate students to achieve. This is the first of many community initiatives Bridge Gate has planned for the year. Special guests included:

Congratulations ACT!
Akron Career Academy (ACT) joined the ranks of our schools who recently received recognition in their respective cities. ACT was also honored with the 2023 Best of Akron Award. ACT has definitely made a positive imprint within the Akron community. Congratulations to Jaeda Dancy, Leeanna Simmons and the 2022-2023 team!
